Grid-connected self-consumption systems for villas, houses, apartments and businesses across the south of Tenerife. Sized from your real consumption, installed to the REBT and legalised so your surplus is compensated under RD 244/2019.
| Part | What we install | What we check |
|---|---|---|
| Modules | Monocrystalline panels from established manufacturers | Datasheet Pmax, temperature coefficient, product and performance warranty |
| Mounting structure | Aluminium structure for flat or pitched roofs, with an air gap behind the modules | Wind load, roof type, fixings and waterproofing |
| Inverter | String or hybrid inverter, single or three phase to match your supply | MPPT voltage window, max input current, battery compatibility |
| DC side | Solar cable H1Z2Z2-K, matched connectors, DC isolator, DC surge protection | Polarity, Voc, Isc and insulation resistance |
| AC side | Dedicated circuit, breaker and RCD into your consumer unit | Cable size for current and voltage drop, protection coordination |
| Monitoring | Inverter app and consumption meter where needed | Production and consumption visible on your phone |
| Paperwork | Certificate, registration, compensation contract | Everything filed before handover |
A system is sized from your consumption profile, not from the roof area and not from a standard package. We look at 12 months of bills, your contracted power and when in the day you use energy.
Under RD 244/2019 simplified compensation, exported surplus is credited on your bill, but the credit cannot exceed the energy part of that month’s bill. You can take the energy charge to zero, not below. An oversized system gives energy away for nothing, which is why we size to consumption and consider a battery only when evening use justifies it.
Air conditioning, pool pumps, heat pumps and home offices use power when the panels produce it. A villa with a pool in the south is the strongest solar case on the island.
At this latitude the sun is high for most of the year, so south, south-east and south-west roofs perform within a few per cent of each other. Shade from a water tank, an aerial or a neighbour’s wall does far more damage, because one shaded module can pull down a whole string. We design strings around the shade, or use module-level optimisation where it pays.
Module output falls as cell temperature rises. We keep an air gap behind the panels and keep the inverter out of direct sun so it does not derate.

Every component with its model number, labour and paperwork, and the expected annual generation.
Typically one to two days for a domestic system.
String tests, insulation resistance, protection tests and a written test record.
Certificate, registration of the self-consumption installation and the compensation contract with your retailer.
| Step | What it does |
|---|---|
| CIE (boletín eléctrico) | The low-voltage installation certificate filed with the Gobierno de Canarias. Required by law and by every grant scheme |
| Self-consumption registration | Every self-consumption installation in the Canaries has to be registered |
| Distributor and retailer | The distributor updates the supply point and the retailer signs the compensation contract so surplus is credited |
Only if most of your consumption is after dark or you want backup. For daytime use, the same money in panels usually returns more. See solar batteries.
Yes, with the community’s agreement. Shared self-consumption between several owners is also possible.
A standard grid-tied inverter shuts down during a cut. Backup needs a hybrid inverter, a battery and a backup circuit.
A yearly visual check, connector and protection check, and cleaning when calima dust builds up.
